Events Surrounding the Woodward Dream Cruise

The Woodward Dream Cruise is Detroit's premier summer event, or should I say Metro Detroit's premier event. The cruise's route has historically started just north of the border to the city proper (AKA 8 Mile Road) on Woodward Avenue.

That changes in 2008. While the official route of the cruise remains the same, the City of Detroit and communities throughout and surrounding Metro Detroit are getting in on the act through the aptly named Cruisin' Detroit Summer Festival. Frankly, it's about time. The Motor City should be part of the celebration, which now encompasses a 10-day period in August, the City of Detroit, Grosse Pointe, the Woodward Avenue corridor, the Michigan State Fairgrounds and Flint. It's getting so you need a program to sort out which auto-related events in August make your calendar.
