Uniquely Detroit: Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum

Although Marvin's set up these days leans more toward arcade than museum, Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum still has many coin-operated oddities and side-show exhibits. The machines include wooden mechanical animation, Dr. Ralph BingenPurge's Country Food Inspector and the Challenge KillerWatt -- a shocking experience.

While I knew Marvin's was unique in Michigan, I didn't realize it was nationally renowned until seeing Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum featured on the History Channel's Modern Marvels, an obvious fit.
