Michigan's Proposal 1: Medical Marijuana Use

As the November election grows nearer, we're being inundated with all things Obama and McCain. Given an abundance of television advertisements arguing "2 goes 2 far," Michigan Proposal 2 is also getting some attention -- although I would argue the advertisements do little in the way of informing voters about the actual subject matter of the proposal: embryonic stem cell research.
While I'm hearing less about it in the news, Proposal 1 contemplates a major issue for the state as well: the legalization of marijuana for medical use. Until recently, the proposal had no organized opposition and the polls showed it is likely to pass, which leaves me wondering, as Generation X ages, where we stand about legalizing marijuana for recreational use.
