Spring may be coming (along with spring break), but our notorious Michigan weather will undoubtedly give us a few more inside days when we’re looking for something to do. Here are just a few of the special exhibits visiting the Detroit-area museums:
- The Detroit Historic Museum is hosting a Detroit’s Classic TV Personalities exhibit. Among the names honored are Bill Bonds, Bill Kennedy and Soupy Sales.
- The Detroit Science Center is hosting Star Trek The Exhibit, which includes costumes and sets from the various Star Trek shows and movies, as well as other memorabilia.
- The Detroit Institute of Arts is hosting American Chronicles: The Art of Norman Rockwell, which includes man of his covers from The Saturday Evening Post, as well as some of his later works from Look magazine.

We have such a wealth of local museums. It’s good to see that the DIA can still afford to put together major shows. Check out my write-up on the Rockwell show here: http://tinyurl.com/coe8au
