Delayed several times, the last phase of the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative is set to be implemented on June 1st, 2009. Assuming there are no other delays, adults entering into the United States from Canada, the Caribbean, Bermuda and/or Mexico will be required to present a passport. Children 16 and under, however, are excepted and will be able to continue to use their birth certificate. Note: U.S. citizens are already required to present a passport to re-enter the country when traveling by air.

Thanks for the heads up! This has been coming for a very long time — I hope that everyone is ready. It used to be so easy to bop over to Windsor. I wonder if this will speed things up or if the wait will still be just as long and unpredictable.
