Motor City Comic Con, the Soup Nazi and Tom Savini
Monday May 18, 2009
The Motor City Comic Con has comic books, sure; but it also has toys (aka collectibles), amazing artists, costumed characters and past-their-hey-day celebrities.

It wasn't easy to decide which celebrity autograph to get for $20. I was originally leaning toward Larry Thomas, the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld -- he even had ladles to sign -- but I ended up with a signed picture from Tom Savini, the special-effects artist. The bulk of the decked-out-in-black crowd, however, was gathered around Catherine Bach and John Schneider from The Dukes of Hazzard; Doug Jones from Hellboy; and Kristy Swanson, the original Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
