Michigan Small Business Tip: Goods and Services Trade

The art of bartering goods and services is making a comeback, especially in economy-ravaged Michigan. Of course, the concept is helped along by trade associations and online websites that make the exchange process relatively easy and, in effect, provide an alternative means of marketing your business and expanding your client base.

Barter exchanges allow a business to utilize its idle resources to market to a new, motivated client base. Not only can a business exchange/trade goods and services without affecting its cash budget, but the process gives the business the opportunity to shop locally and thus help the Michigan economy.
