Zombie World Detroit: Theme Park Update

By , About.com GuideJuly 31, 2012

Follow me on:

As was reported in the news several weeks ago, there is a new idea being run up the flag pole about how to repopulate at least one of Detroit's abandoned neighborhoods. The twist? The neighborhood would be repopulated with zombies. Granted, there have been several instances (including this one) of zombies in Detroit and Michigan, but the people behind the Z World Detroit idea envision a zombie community, if you will, complete with zombie folk and those who want to survive them.

The idea of a zombie theme park in Detroit is just that until $145,000 is raised to take the first step toward implementing it. With a little less than two weeks left to hit the $145,000 goal on Indiegogo.com, how are the founders doing? Well...not well. As of July 30th, less than $10,000 has been pledged in donations.

Now is the time to ask yourself if you want Detroit to be a true melting pot that welcomes everyone regardless of religion, colour, creed, nationality, or spiritual state. If you want Z World Detroit to become a reality, you have to think of zombies as more than just a pleasant past time on X-Box or AMC and put your money where your mouth is.
