Granted, the month of December is one big lead in into the holidays, but it is also about the start of winter in Detroit. By all means check out the Detroit Christmas Guide, but also check out the Dickens Festival in Holly, the Holiday Ice & Winterfest Market in Ferndale, and the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl at Ford Field.
One of the more interesting events in the Detroit-area in December is Noel Night, which consists of fun and festivities at 60 of Detroit's cultural institutions, including the Detroit Institute of Arts, Charles H. Wright Museum of American History and the Detroit Historical Museum.
