Detroit is home to several great colleges and universities with theater departments, each of which produces several shows a year. Here is just a taste of the dramas, comedies and/or musicals being performed in the Metro-Detroit area over the next couple of weeks:
- Urinetown: The Musical is opening at The Quirk at Eastern Michigan University this weekend.
- The Skin of Our Teeth (a comedy) opens at the Mendelssohn Theatre at the University of Michigan on February 21st.
- Detroit By Lisa D'Amour will be performed at the Hilberry Theater at Wayne State University this weekend. It runs through April 5th.
- Wings (drama) is in its last weekend. It is a University of Detroit Mercy production and will be performed at the Marygrove Theatre on the Marygrove College campus on McNichols Road.
