Take a Break: Food & Drink

There is a lot of ground to cover at the Detroit Auto Show, and a break will be absolutely necessary. When visiting the 2010 NAIAS in Detroit, there are several places to eat. In addition to restaurants within Cobo Center itself, there are several within walking distance and along the People Mover route.

In Cobo Center:
  • Like in prior years, Cobo Arena is turned into a food court reminiscent of one found at a summer festival, although the food variety is wider than you'd expect. In fact, the food offerings are most similar to those you’d find at Comerica Park. While communal tables fill the arena floor, you may have to find seats in the stands, which can be a somewhat awkward eating experience.
  • Vu Restaurant and Lounge
  • Simon’s Pizza and Subs
  • Pizza Queen
  • Baskin Robbins Stand
Within Walking Distance:
  • Caucus Club, fine dining in the Penobscot Building
  • Cobo Joes, pizza and subs on Congress
  • The Post Bar, bar fare on Congress
  • Rowland Cafe, Italian coffee, sandwiches and pastries in The Guardian Building Lobby on Griswold
  • Gateway Deli Cafe, delicatessen on Fort Street
  • The Bean Bar, coffee and muffins on Congress
  • Bluestar Cafe, Congress
  • 150 Cafe Lounge, Jefferson
  • Greenroom Salads, Congress
  • Six Pack Bar & Grill, West Congress

  • Also nearby: Quiznos, Subway, Burger King, Mr. Pita (by Joe Louis), Pizza Hut, Jimmy Johns and Mr. Pita
Along the People Mover Route:
  • The GM Renaissance Center is home to several restaurants.
  • The Greektown neighborhood is also home to several restaurants, including:
    • Loco Bar & Grille
    • Fishbone’s Rhythm Kitchen
    • Pegasus Taverna (Review)
    • Greektown Casino/Hotel’s International Buffet (Review) and Bistro 555
  • The Detroit People Mover Station Guide provides a list of restaurants and other attractions available at each stop.
