Events
The big event in town this weekend is the Motor City Comic Con at The Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi. If comics, storm troopers, Lou Ferrigno, and/or Edward James Olmos aren't your thing, check out the Komen Detroit Race for the Cure at Comerica Park, the Ann Arbor Antiques Market or Eastern Market Flower Day.
Concerts:
Detroit plays host to several concerts this weekend, including Scotty McCreery, Chicago, Tim McGraw, Vampire Weekend, The Legend of Hip Hop, The Whigs, Drivin' N' Cryin', Sugar Man Rodriguez, Cheap Trick, and Jesse Cook.
Theater, Plays and Shows:
This weekend in Detroit includes operas, musicals and plays, including:
- Aida at the Detroit Opera House
- Catch Me If You Can at the Fisher Theatre in Detroit
- Sign Out on Sundays at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center in Dearborn

Expos, Conventions and Trade Shows:
In addition to the Motor City Comic Con, there are several other expos, conventions and shows in town, including a Gun & Knife Show; MOA's 114th Annual Spring Scientific Convention; Gridiron Greats Hall of Fame Dinner & Gridiron Greats and Detroit City Sports Autograph Signing & Sports Memorabilia Show; the Downriver Fair & Expo; and the Sports Cards, Antiques, and Collectibles Show.

While the Red Wings aren't in town this weekend, they will still be in our hearts. The Chicago Blackhawks host the Red Wings in game 2 of the playoffs on Saturday (5/18) at 1 PM. You can watch the game on NBC.
