The kids are home for Winter Break and have nowhere to be for atleast a week! Here are a few Christmas Break ideas for things to do with the kids over Winter Break in Detroit:

Winter Activities

When Michigan gets with the cold and the snow...go play in it! The Park at Campus Martius in downtown Detroit is a great outdoor venue for ice skating. The Metro-Detroit area also boasts several downhill skiing resorts and parks for cross-country skiing.

Shows and Concerts

At any given time, Detroit hosts a variety of shows and concerts, including music concerts, Broadway plays, comedians, rodeos and circuses.

The Metro-Detroit area has several world-renowned museums for your exploring pleasure. During Winter Break, the Detroit Institute of Arts has a special holiday program, while the Detroit Science Center hosts the Accidental Mummies of Guanajuato and The Henry Ford Museum hosts Good Design, Stories by Herman Miller

Arcades and Fun Centers

The Metro-Detroit area has several venues for laser tag, whirlyball and paintball; but if a good old fashioned entertainment complex with an arcade, go-karts and/or miniature golf sounds good, read on.

The movie theaters in Metro Detroit come in all shapes and sizes, from single screen to megaplex. As a major metropolitan area, we also get a lot of independent and foreign films. Take the movie-going experience up a notch by going to one of Metro-Detroit's IMAX theaters or see a film in Canton's D-Box MFX Motion Seats.
