Green Street Fair
When: 5/4/12 through 5/6/12
Where: Downtown Plymouth
Plymouth celebrates its fifth-annual Green Street Fair on the first weekend of May. A three-day event, the Green Street Fair hopes to mix good times with green living. In addition to speakers and companies showcasing their green-friendly products, there will be music on the Eco-Beats Stage, including The Verve Pipe. Other special events at the fair include the Fort Box garden, Flip Your Lid mural, The Quench Buggy, and a Birds of Prey exhibit.
Mother's Day Brunch
When: 5/13/12
Where: Throughout Metro Detroit
Mother's Day is big for brunch, so reservations are a good idea. Some Metro-Detroit restaurants for Mother's Day serve their usual menu, but others celebrate the event with a special menu or buffet:
Motor City Comic Con
When: 5/18/12 through 5/20/12
Where: The Suburban Collection Showplace, Novi
If you're into all things comics, grab your storm trooper mask and head out to Novi. In addition to a host of comic-book artists and exhibitors, almost 50 celebrities will be on hand to sign autographs. Here are just a few:

Eastern Market Flower Day

The annual flower show marks the beginning of spring in Detroit. "Flower Day" gives growers across the state a 15-acre venue at which to market their annuals, perennials, trees, flats and hanging baskets.
