Universities generally offer bachelor's degrees that require a minimum of four years of study, as well as graduate degrees. Many universities have some type of residential facilities, although some universities are considered "commuter schools" and have a low percentage of students who actually live on campus. Rochester Hills: Rochester College

Approximately 1000 students attend the Christian college, most of who attend on a full-time basis. It is essentially a commuter school with about 25% of the student body living on campus. The college offers associate's, bachelor's and graduate programs. There are 21 undergraduate programs, and Liberal Arts and Business are the most popular.

Admissions: GPA 2.83

Yearly tuition: Over $13,000

Southfield: Lawrence Technological University

Approximately 2,500 students attend the University. Most of the students are part-time commuters with only 15% living on campus. The University offers both bachelor's and graduate programs. The most popular programs are in Engineering, Architecture and Business Administration.

Admissions: GPA 3.26

Yearly tuition: $19,000

Troy: Walsh College of Accountancy and Business Administration

Approximately 3,000 students attend the college in undergraduate, graduate and professional programs. Originally, the Accountancy program made a name for the college, which now offers several business degrees, master's programs and now a graduate program in Executive Leadership.

Yearly tuition: $6,000

Ypsilanti: Eastern Michigan University

Over 18,000 students attend the University. Most of the students attend on a full-time basis. The University also has a high number of transfer students. Only about 15% of the students live on campus. The University offers both bachelor’s and graduate degrees and is known for its Teaching, Nursing, Psychology and Business Administration programs.

Admissions: GPA 3.1

Yearly tuition: $7,000
