Although it was voted Detroit's best lesbian bar in 1999, 2000 and 2001 by the readers of Metro Times Detroit, the Rainbow Room has a much wider appeal. Affirmations Lesbian/Gay Community Center
With emphasis on "community," the Affirmations Lesbian/Gay Community Center in Ferndale provides events, information/resources, support groups and even an art gallery in its new, 17,000 square foot building. Although the nonprofit organization is dedicated to the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community, the doors are open to any sexual orientation.
