Film Detroit is part of The Metro Detroit Conventions & Visitors Bureau, a non-profit organization. The division was created to help production companies find and procure shooting locations, as well as find the necessary support resources for its crew. The office serves the larger mission of the bureau, which is to promote the Metro Detroit area and the bureau’s diverse membership. Film Detroit often partners with the Michigan Film Office for Metro Detroit projects.
