The Michigan Film Office is part of the State of Michigan’s government website. The office was created to promote the growth of Michigan’s film industry act as a facilitator between state resources and film/TV production companies. While the need for its services has increased since the passage of the film incentives program in 2008, the Michigan Film Office was actually created back in 1979.

As part of the services offered, the Michigan Film Office procures shooting locations and provides a production-registry directory. The directory allows local industry professions to post their resumes for use by in-coming productions. The office also provides:

  • Information about and assistance to film/TV productions in obtaining Michigan’s new film incentives
  • General information about resources available in Michigan, including hotels and weather
  • Information about industry-specific resources available in Michigan, including crew, sound stages and film labs
  • A film-industry jobs listing

Extras:

While most of the information contained on the website is directed at production companies and the film industry, the office also keeps a directory of film festivals held in the state.
