Cobo Center is the long-time home of the North American International Auto Show. In recent years, Cobo was bursting at the seams to accommodate all the exhibitors, but 2008 proved less than stellar for the auto industry. This translated into some automakers opting out of the show in 2009. While the show has less glitz than previous years, organizers and participating automakers are generating momentum through debuts, eye-catching models and a commitment to the words "hybrid" and "electric."
Concept Cars
Concept cars are the bread and butter of any auto show, and the 2009 Detroit Auto Show has its fair share of futuristic design.
Model Highlights
While there were less exhibitors and the glitz was turned down a notch, the Detroit Auto Show delivers in terms of debuts and eye-catching models.
New and Novel in 2009
The Detroit Auto Show expands the experience in 2009 with new exhibitors, private displays, a Ford-Raptor simulation and chauffeured rides.
