Victorian Downtown

The Village of Northville was once a part of Plymouth Township. It became its own township in 1898 when the township seat, located in the Village of Plymouth, proved too far away for adequate representation and bridge repair. Turns out, Northville Township got the lion's share of the acreage. Straddling Wayne and Oakland Counties, Northville is known for its impressive schools and affluent neighborhoods. It's best known, however, for its Victorian heritage, which is showcased along Center and Main Streets in the City of Northville's downtown.

Unique and Varied Entertainment

Northville has some truly unique entertainment choices, including Genetti's Hole in the Wall, which offers dinner shows, and the Marquis Theater for children. The best gamble for entertainment, however, is probably the city's downtown race track. Northville Downs hosts harness racing from October through April and simulcasting all-year round.
