The Metro Detroit area has a unique climate pattern for gardening. What does that mean for the layman homeowner who just wants to gussy up the place? It means that some plants don’t do that well in southeast Michigan, while others thrive.

One category of flowers is bulbs, which are planted in spring or fall and bloom every year from then on out. Most bulbs bloom in the spring before trees leaf out. They are low maintenance and you don't have to worry about sun or shade. In other words, plant them where you want them.
