A successful example of new urbanism, The Village of Rochester Hills is a Robert B. Aikens and Associates development designed to mimic a small town shopping area. It consists of a downtown street, complete with sidewalks and parking, lined on either side with 50 shops and restaurants, most of which you wouldn't see outside of a traditional enclosed mall.
