Answer: Michigan had more than its fair share of athletes competing in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Michigan athletes helped earn four of the 37 medals earned by the United States.

Silver Medals: Bronze Medal:

Travis Jayner earned a Bronze Medal in the 5000m Relay as part of the U.S. Speed Skating Team. (Jayner trains in Michigan.)

Note:
  • Ice Dancers Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir earned a Gold Medal for Canada in Ice Dancing. They train in Canton, Michigan.
  • Red Wings Mike Babcock (head coach) and Steve Yzerman (general manager) helped Canada earn a Gold Medal in Ice Hockey. Likewise, Red Wing Valtteri Filppula (left wing) helped Finland earn a Bronze Medal.
