The great thing about us Detroiters is that we appreciate the warm weather. After the snow, ice and generally cold weather of winter, we just want to bask in our balmy summer nights. As it turns out, there are plenty of free things to do to lure us outside and keep us entertained while we are out there. Listed below are a few of the free summer concerts, plays and outdoor movies scheduled in Metro Detroit. The information is listed by county:

Park it Family Fun NightsWhat: Park It evenings include an kids activities, as well as an outdoor concert and movie
When: The family fun nights take place on various nights of the week throughout the summer at various locations throughout the Metro-Detroit area.
Where: Park It parks its night of activities at local parks.
Schedule
Macomb County:
- Eastpointe: Shamrock Summer Concert Series
When: Concerts are schedule on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 PM from late June through August.
Where: Concerts take place at City Hall Plaza on Gratiot Avenue.
Music: Motown, jazz, big band, country and more
- Mt. Clemens: Uptown Friday Night Concert Series
When: Concerts are scheduled on Friday evenings from 7:30 PM to 9 PM in the month of June and occasional Friday nights thereafter.
Where: Concerts take place at the Fountain Stage on Macomb Place, between North Walnut and Pine Streets in downtown Mt. Clemens.
Music: Acoustic rock, rock, blues, classic hits, soul, pop
- Mt. Clemens: Riversight and Sound Concert Series
When: Concerts are schedule on Friday evenings around 7:30 PM or 8 PM from the end of June through early August.
Where: Concerts are located at the Clinton Riverfront Park.
Music: Music legend tributes, alternative indie rock, rhythm and blues
- St. Clair Shores: Music on the Lake Concerts
When: Concerts are scheduled on Wednesday evening beginning in July.
Where: Concerts are held at the band shell at Veterans Memorial Park on Jefferson Avenue.
Music: Classic rock, Motown, and Jimmy Buffet tributes.
- Warren: Concert at the Square
When: Concerts are scheduled for Sundays at 7 PM to 8:30 PM from mid July through the end of August
